Statistics: Russia’s inflation at 0.2% in January 10–Monday
MOSCOW, Jan 16 (PRIME) -- Russia’s consumer price inflation amounted to 0.2% from January 10 through Monday and reached 0.7% from January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Wednesday.
In the reported period, prices for fruit and vegetables rose 1.1% on average. Prices for cabbage and tomatoes grew 2.6%, carrot prices increased 1.9%, and prices for potatoes, onion, and cucumbers rose 1.1%.
Prices for eggs and sugar rose 0.2% and 0.1%, respectively, after growing by 28% and 26% in 2018.
Millet prices increased 0.6%, flour prices added 0.5%, poultry and buckwheat prices increased 0.3%. Prices for sausages decreased 0.2%, and prices for margarine and chocolate sweets fell 0.1%.
Gasoline and diesel fuel prices rose 0.2%.
The Russian government’s official forecast for 2019 inflation amounts to 4.3%, while the central bank expects it at 5.05.5%.
